Wrap Up

Hey guys! How is everyone's Tuesday going?
We've had a busy few days and then I had to work night shift last night, so that always throws off my time a little bit. Here's what we've been up to:

We had date night at a thai restaurant!
The Boyfriend anxiously awaiting our appetizer.

Our fried tofu appetizer dipped in sweet & sour peanut sauce. So delicious. I have been craving this appetizer since the first time I had it.
We like thai food because they have a lot of vegetarian options, and you can ask them to hold the MSG, so we usually go thai, greek, or indian when we go out to eat. Having said that, we only go out to eat maybe once every other month. If that.
This thai restaurant (bangkok ocha) was delicious. I got the cashew vegetables with a spicy brown sauce, served with rice, and The Boyfriend got sweet & sour tofu/vegetables served with rice. Neither was too salty and we didn't have any problems later that night or the next day!

We went to the farmer's market, spent 16 dollars on FIVE BAGS of fresh produce, and came away with:
bean sprouts
spinach x3 bags
parsley
cucumbers x3
zucchini
carrots x2 bags
mushrooms
onions
bananas
apples
avocados
romaine lettuce x2 bags
radishes
sugar snap peas
tomatoes

So worth the 15 minute drive to the Farmer's Market for all this, plus it is grown locally, and no pesticides on the fruit and veggies!

The Boyfriend had also soaked some dried beans overnight, so we woke up to this:

A huge heap of sodium-free garbanzo beans!! And of course I can't look at chickpeas without having my mouth water for some hummus, so a few minutes later:

It was a little more watery than normal due to the extra water I added. The Boyfriend liked to use chips to scoop up his hummus:

while I had another idea: heaped over a big green salad and mixed in to make a thick, creamy-like dressing:

Then on Sunday we finally rode the tram Uptown for the first time since we moved here!

Once Uptown we walked around, enjoyed the sun, and then met up with friends and had a little photo-shoot at The Green:

Playing some hop-scotch and posing with some books:

We ended that day with *another* restaurant, (I know, right after I say we hardly ever go out and then we go out twice in one week) but the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, we got that summer-y, care-free feeling going on, and we splurged. We went to a mexican restaurant in the Epicenter Uptown (not just any mexican but the Elite of all mexican, apparently, judging from their prices, service and location) and sat outside with our chips and salsa, margaritas, and then had some veggie tacos for an entree. Not a bad way to wrap up a good weekend!

I've still been keeping up with my wheatgrass shots every morning:

and still feel great! My wheatgrass post is here, and if you're just now catching up, some of my other recent posts have been:

The rest of my past blogs are located to the right of each blog under Blog Archive (A few of you were telling me you didn't know how to find them) So I hope this helps!

Also, I saw on my blog stats that in less than one month this blog was viewed 640 times! Wow! I'm impressed and flattered. But where is the feedback? I've read on other blogsites how the author will call their readers who don't say anything "lurkers", people who always view and read the blogs but never make their presence known with conversation, comments, questions, etc.

I would love to hear from you, and to know who you are! I recently connected with a fellow blogger who turned out to live right down the street from me and we are planning to meet up, get some tea, possibly have a workout session, whatever we feel like. You never know what connections you could make or the friends you could potentially develop unless you take that step and branch out! :)

I am attempting to flip back from night shift to day shift, so after a two hour nap today I'm going to go to the gym and try to stay up all day. Wish me luck!

I hope to hear from you soon!

Michele your hummus salad made my mouth water like crazy. What is a wheat grass shot and what are the benefits of it?

Sarah,
Wheatgrass shots are just a shot of wheatgrass juice. Wheatgrass is one of the most potent plants on the planet! When you squeeze it into an expeller juicer, you get a tiny amount of pure, raw, potent juice, and this is the "wheatgrass shot" or shot of juice! I dont have a juicer so I just buy the frozen shots from the store! Wheatgrass has a lot of benefits, from curing cancer to helping kidney stones and bladder problems, to helping your liver, spleen, glands, skin, hair and nails, to giving you as much energy as two cups of coffee, and has 70% of every vitamin, mineral and amino acid that humans need!
I did a post on wheatgrass and you can find it under the Wheatgrass What tab, or copy and paste this into your browser --> http://michelezader.blogspot.com/2011/02/wheatgrass-what.html

Thanks for asking! I love hummus too! Do you make your own ?

Michele, it is so funny that you say that about 'lurkers' because I feel the same way! lol It's hard to make the time to blog about all of my ideas and happenings when it feels like nobody is reading them! Since having my blog I have tried to comment more on others. It is hard though because it takes time, but it's nice to have others comment. It's like talking! ;-) ~Also, I <3 chia!

First, I'm SO glad you liked the cauliflower mash! I love it too! And I also put Frank's on a ridiculous amount of things too! I even keep a stash at work!! Too funny!:)

Second, yes! I love making friends through blogging and I'm so glad we connected! The first couple months you definitely feel like you're talking to yourself, but your readers will begin to step up soon! :)

P.S. I'm gonna have to get your hummus recipe. I've never made my own but have always wanted to! Oh, and I will definitely need to try out that Thai restaurant. What part of town is it in?
